Job Description – General Assistant
You will be working:
3 or 4 Days/ Nights per week (Sunday- Friday)
up to 48 hours
12 hours shift 6AM- 6PM/ 6PM- 6AM
£8.21 per hour
On site Canteen

To be responsible for the quality of all product & to highlight any quality concerns to either their manager or the quality assurance (AQ) department
A legal duty to take reasonable care of their own health & safety & that of others, which may be affected by what they do or do not do

This role involves tasks that require high levels of manual handling, I.e.
Pushing
Pulling
Carrying
Lifting
Bending & Stretching
It is important that the worker can undertake the level of manual handling that is required in the role. This may include raw material weights not exceeding 25 kgs.
Examples of the type of manual handling required are listed below:
Lifting trays of product (up to 13 kg)
Loading / unloading trays
Pushing & pulling of wheeled trollies
Cutting product with machinery, involving lifting of product
Packing mini bites & manual handling full boxes (up to 5 kg)
Please note, these are just some examples of the tasks that you will be expected to do & this list is not exhaustive.
This role also involves long periods of standing as most tasks require a high degree of flexibility & movement.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ask a team member if you do not know how to do something
Never operate machinery or undertake a task you are not trained on
To complete tasks in accordance with company practices & procedures, including work instructions. Tasks may include:
Packing mini bites by hand & with flow lines
Following specification instructions
Weighing up ingredients
Dishing out products
Operating machinery & equipment
Cutting product by hand (ad-hoc process for mis-shapes) & with machinery
Operate machinery / equipment in accordance with training given, ensuring compliance at all times to health & safety procedures associated with the machinery / equipment
To adhere at all times to the following policies & procedures:

Communicate to a supervisor or manager any concerns or issues they identify regarding;
