We completed a 1 of 3 twilight’s delivering ‘An Introduction to #forestschools to a local Primary School. Instead of this 1 day course being delivered they decided to have it over 3 twilight’s to be flexible and fit in with their planning.
We were more than happy to agree and completed the first session this week with some lovely comments highlighted in the video. This session covered what forest school is , its history, aims and principles, woodland ecology, activities and risk. Our outdoor activity was creating a #fire using fire steels and creating some #art with the process of Japanese Hopa Zome.
Next session will focus more on EYFS and Key Stage activities, role of the adult, areas of exploration, clothing etc with an outdoor activity of using a Kelly Kettle and cooking on an open fire i.e. damper bread, popcorn and marshmallows.
