Principles of Prevention and Control of Infection qualification covers a wide range of topics including the principles of infection prevention and control, the causes and spread of infection and the importance of correct cleaning procedures, decontamination and waste management.

What You Will Learn

  • Unit 2 – Principles of the Importance of Personal Hygiene and Health in the Prevention and Control of Infection in Healthcare Settings
  • Unit 3 – Principles of Decontamination, Cleaning and Waste Management in Healthcare Settings
  • Unit 4 – Principles of Infection Prevention and Control in a Healthcare Setting

Eligibility Criteria

  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over (born before 1 September 1998)
  • A minimum number of 8 learners MUST be present for the induction (there is no maximum)
  • All learners must have been residing in the UK for the past three years and non EU/UK citizens must have documentary proof.
