End of Life Care

End of Life Care is a nationally accredited qualification which develops knowledge and understanding relating to care for end of life .

Course Content

  • Develop knowledge and understanding of care for end of life
  • Covers topics including the support needed to manage pain and discomfort
  • Understand how dementia impacts oncare for end of life
  • Learn the role of the care worker at time of death
  • Learn the loss and grief process

By 2040, the number of people aged over 64 in Britain is expected to grow from 9.5 million to 15 million. The population is ageing, meaning more people will live with serious chronic illness and need end of life care. The problems faced and support needed by people nearing the end of life is wide-ranging and a good understanding of pain management, support and quality of life is essential for all carers.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over (born before 1 September 1998)
  • A minimum number of 8 learners MUST be present for the induction (there is no maximum)
  • All learners must have been residing in the UK for the past three years and non EU/UK citizens must have documentary proof.
