Orangebox Training Solutions began working with CBL Cable Contractors in 2023 when we developed a custom training programme shaped directly by employer needs, the Bespoke Employer Led Programme (BELP).

CBL committed to interviewing everyone who finished the programme, creating a clear path to employment. Imogen Oliphant (left) and Ellie Kidd (right)have been involved with CBL from the start of our partnership with them and take care of looking after the candidates with a supportive aftercare service.

Throughout the entire journey, from initial interview to gaining employment, Imogen and Ellie personally handle every step of the process. Their hands-on approach directly fuels our programme’s success and the positive feedback we continue to receive. They make a point to regularly check in with learners, whether by phone or face-to-face, building real personal connections, every step of the way. They’ve embraced a genuine duty of care, ensuring everyone succeeds and experiences positive, life-changing outcomes.

A standout feature of our partnership is CBL’s Operations Director Dean Gatley (centre) personally teaching the two-day technical course (CCNSG).  This gives candidates direct exposure to CBL’s standards while building connections before formal interviews. This approach has delivered results with 90% of interviewed candidates having landed jobs with CBL.

We’ve also built a valuable partnership with Tradetechs, who provide specialised training resources and funding for our candidates’ IPAF 3a and 3b certifications. This three-way collaboration shows how industry partnerships can create real employment opportunities.
